KRAH IS A SPECIALIST IN ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS
We develop electronic components, particularly wire resistors, electronic controls and electromagnetic components.
The KRAH Group is the world market leader when it comes to power resistors for automotive applications. Our products are used for speed control of cooling and air-conditioning system fans.
AIn addition to the automotive industry, we provide solutions for other areas such as mechanical engineering and automation, railway technology, drive technology, elevators, renewable energies, telecommunication, audio and medical/dental equipment.
We produce innovative solutions in the range of 0.5 W to 70kW with about 2,000 employees in 15 locations in Europe, Asia and America, with 14 factories and one sales office.
The dedicated interaction of engineering, production and quality assurance is our highest priority in the delivery of each solution to the customer.
Get in touchKRAH's history in Brazil began in 1974, with the foundation of ICE – Indústria de Componentes Eletrônicos Ltda. The result of the work of a group of German entrepreneurs linked to RWI (German acronym for Rheinisch Westfälische Isolatorenwerke). Then ICE was formed, a Brazilian company, with capital and technology brought by Germans, who chose the city of Timbó, Santa Catarina, to host their enterprise.
In 1983, RWI transferred its wire resistor manufacturing to KRAH in Germany, thus creating the KRAH-RWI group, leader in technological development and owner of more than 85% of the European automotive market.
Since 1996, from the contacts between KRAH-RWI in Germany and ICE in Brazil, the acquisition of ICE in 1999 and the consequent creation of KRAH-ICE-BRASIL was founded, making it the largest wire resistor supplier to the demanding Brazilian automotive industry.
Going forward and facing challenges, KRAH-ICE takes over the resistor production line from DELPHI Automotive Systems do Brasil Ltda., guaranteeing first-class cemented ceramic resistors.
In 2009, aiming to expand business in Brazil, KRAH decides to bring to Brazil a new production technology from Germany, to produce noise suppressor resistors that are used in spark plug cables and also in ignition coils. The noise suppressor reduces electromagnetic interference caused by high voltage pulses and sparks.
In 2014, Krah ICE acquired the company, High Tech, in the city of Limeira in São Paulo, a renowned company that had in its portfolio the over-injection of spark plug cable tips, a product line that complements Krah's traditional portfolio in the division of noise suppressors.
In 2019, after many achievements and growth in the market, on completing 45 years of activity in Brazil, Krah ICE is now simply called Krah, also changing its logo, thus adjusting to the corporate identity of the Krah Group.
Also in 2019, aiming to expand business, KRAH started the production of inductors and transformers in Brazil, giving rise to a new company, KRAH Inductivity.
50 years ago, the technology was different. Automation was limited and personal computers were not yet common. However, our company was already starting turned our discoveries into breakthroughs for the future.
Today, information is unlimited, communication has no boundaries, the world has become smaller, and innovations succeed each other at an unparalleled pace. And if we have the opportunity to be part of this moment, it is because our history has made technological innovation the greatest attribute for our growth.
